What do you do at bedtime? Bounce on your bed? Put PJs on your favourite ted? Do you snuggle down and listen to a story, or do you sneak about and get a little bit naughty?
Join us for a very special Bedtime at the River where we will meet Heron, finding out what that great big bird does at bedtime. We’ll make our own nests from local plants and lavender pillows to take home. We’ll hear stories and sing a song together.
And the best bit? We’re swapping bubble baths for a sound bath! Snuggle into your little nest, bring a blanket and get cosy as sound practitioner Kate Cohen weaves the sounds of the river with her singing bowls to soothe you into a lullaby about Heron.
We sometimes take the importance of “a good night’s sleep” for granted, but in pre-industrial societies sleep patterns were more flexible and varied, responding more closely than today to the rhythms of the seasons. Bedtime at the River also encourages us to pay closer attention to some of the wide community of living creatures who share the River Tweed with us.Bring your own picnic to enjoy teatime and bedtime by the river.
Suitable for families, and adults happy to engage in child-focused creative exploration.
If you cannot attend please let us know so that we can reallocate your ticket.
