Connecting Threads run a series of annual residencies, bringing socially and environmentally engaged artists to the River Tweed.
The six selected artists for 2025 are: Anna Chapman Parker, Emily Cropton, Georgie Fay, Sam Gillespie, Jessie Growden and Miwa Nagato-Apthorp.
Previous Connecting Threads artists in residence include: Sam Laughlin, Coleman and Hodges, and Annie Lord (all 2024); Saul Pankhurst (2023); and Jules Bradbury (2021).
Our approach to programming is both proactive and responsive. We are keen to work in partnership with organisations and individuals who share our enthusiasm for the River Tweed. Our team of River Culture Animateurs hold quarterly planning meetings to discuss the proposals we receive and how we might best be able to respond. If you have ideas that you would like to discuss with us, we encourage you to get in touch. The more notice you can give us the better. Please visit our Contact page to contact the appropriate person.
