Parking
There are two car parks within ten minutes of the museum. Kingsmeadows car park is free and islocatedon the Southside of the Tweed Bridge (cross the bridge and veer left – take first exit on the left). There are public toiletslocatedat thiscar park.
Alternatively, there is a car park situated alongside the Edinburgh Road. There is a charge for car parking on a Saturday only. Vehicle access is from the Edinburgh Road – there is a pedestrian access directly from the car park to the high street. There are public toilets located in this car park.
There are ‘disabled badge holders only’ car parking spaces on the High Street.
Venue 1
Peebles Burgh Hall
Address: Peebles Burgh Hall, High Street, Peebles, EH45 8AG
Part of the historic Chambers Institute Complex. Peebles Burgh Hall is set back from the High Street and is approached through an archway from the High Street into the courtyard.
Peebles Burgh Hall facilities include: main hall, kitchen and toilets. There are male and female toilets and a disabled toilet. The disabled toilet is gender-neutral.
There is level access from the pavement on the High Street into the courtyard. There is a very slight ramp to main entrance door. The main entrance and internal doors are not automatic. There is level access throughout the entrance foyer, the corridor to the toilets, toilets themselves, and the main hall.
Main hall
There is level access to the main hall. There is a raised stage in the main hall, accessed via steps only (two steps).
Kitchen
The kitchen is accessed via steps only (two steps).
Venue 2
Peebles Library Museum and Gallery
Address: Peebles Library Museum and Gallery, High Street, Peebles, EH45 8AG
Part of the historic Chambers Institute Complex. This venue can be accessed from two entrances: through an archway from the High Street into the Chamber Institute courtyard or, for lift access, from the High Street through Scottish Borders Council Customer Services/ Go Tweed Valley visitor centre.
For the Tweed River Festival, we are making use of a gallery space within the Peebles Library Museum and Gallery buildingknown as the “Museum Room”.
There is lift access to the Library, Museum and Chambers Room. Access to the lift is from the High Street through Scottish Borders Council Customer Services. If the door is locked there is a buzzer to press to request access. A member of staff will inform the person(s) that they will come down to open the door and direct them to the lift. There is a Wheelchair Platform Lift from the Library to the Museum Room (the venue for Tweed River Festival).
