Tweed River Festival 2025 travel and access bursary

What is the Bursary?

Connecting Threads have created a travel and access bursary for people who may need extra financial support to attend the Tweed River Festival (Peebles, 31 October - 2 November, 2025).

Priority will be given to people who live in and around the Borders region, including the Scottish Borders, Dumfries and Galloway and Northumberland.

Who is it for?

The bursaries are for anyone facing financial barriers, such as travel cost, childcare, interpreters, support worker / carer costs and accommodation, which might prevent them from attending the festival in Peebles.

There is limited budget available on a first come, first served basis.

How to claim it?

Please email connectingthreads@sup.org.uk with the following information:

• Your name
• Details of which days and events you are booked to attend at the Tweed River Festival
• Contact details
• Purpose of bursary: travel cost, childcare, interpreters, support worker / carer costs and accommodation, other.
• Are you happy to pay upfront and then submit a travel expense claim? Or do you need us to book and pay for travel upfront on your behalf? 
• If booking needs to be made by Connecting Threads, please provide: 
• Details of journey (start to finish) including specific train or bus times
• Any travel pass or rail card information
• Dates of travel
• Total estimated cost of request

Deadline for requests: Wednesday 29th October. 

Please note we will require receipts and will ask you to fill in an expense form to process bursary claims unless we pre-book travel on your behalf.
